Movie Review : Where Got Ghost?
This Horror/Comedy had left some impression on me and some of my friend...and that impression is a positive one.
Jack Neo is a veteran Singaporean director whom had much experience in local horror and his directing skill did not disappoint me...well,most of it anyway.
The film is split into 3 major segment;Ghost on the Street,Ghost in The Jungle and finally,Ghost in The House respectively. The movie seems to be focus more on comedy which was fine because it did gave me plenty of scared with the classic loud noise in quite and creepy atmosphere and sudden pop-up of scary face.
So far,I felt that it was pretty well done. The first part was depressing, the second was full of comedy and ended in a sad note and finally the third part which will give you a warm feeling even after you left the cinema. If you got money to spend, enjoy this with your friend. Right...Its was a really fun and amazing convention...so many Cosplay-er,comics,figurine,games and much more!!!
I went with Luqman,Kellie and Kellie's friend,Yong Wei aka:Edward,Kit-Chan,and we all bought a bunch of toys...I bought 1 cheap marvel comic book and Sogo's blinder. I even get a chance to dub anime!!!(which I really screw up) but it was still fun...Luqman should do the villain though...we both did Hayate the Combat Butler.
'Edward' cosplay as...well...Edward from Full Metal Alchemist!..I gotta admitted, that costume was actually cool.
I will properly post CC's pics in the next few day so...hang on!!
After we done 'shopping',all 4 of us were extremely sick and tired,so we went to Suntec Mall to get some FOOD!!....from Burger King :p
After that,we just went our separate way and go home...well,I guess this is it for today then...

Movie Review : G.I. Joe
Saturday, August 8, 2009
Well...Am not gonna lie,I actually enjoyed G.I. Joe!
This movie is flashy,action-packed and full of 'cool' moment which would really appeal to the younger generation,well...am a freaking teenager and this is my opinion of G.I.Joe
The movie try too hard to look cool and instead, what we got is a bunch of CGI throwing at our faces and yes,it does not stay true to the cartoon series. This was to be expected and the movie suffered too much from the noisy character and over-used flashback.Ironically, the best character was Snake-Eyes,a mute ninja.
This movie has it flaw and all but they make it clear enough that is a base-work and there will definitely be a sequel in the future in which I look forward to.Lastly...i have 1 thing left to say...Go Joe!!! Movie Premise:7/10 Plot line:6/10 Acting:5/10 Overall Rating:6.5/10
Movie Trailer : Sherlock Holmes
Tuesday, August 4, 2009
Well, that was fun. I like it that they take new approached to transform Holmes from a calm and cool minded into a witty James-Bond type of detective. If you actually watch the previous Holmes film (I did),you will find yourself really exited when you see Holmes fight,do parkour and dive into the Thames river. In the typical Holmes film, you will only see the detective and his partner,Watson, wandering around and finding clues to solve mystery but don't be mistaken,it was fun!
But some people surely will not agreed with me partly because they have read the book (I have not)and will always have Holmes's image as the talented,pipe-smoking and intelligent detective they all came and love. What am trying to say is...give this one a try. This is fresh and new and I bet that this would definitely appeal to all younger generation.
Trailer Rating : 7/10 Anticipation Level : 75%
First actual post...
So a lot of people had been complaining recently that I did not use the 'full potential of blog' so that's what am gonna do today...
OK...I woke up,go to school, study and get out of school...(The following paragraph would not make sense if you are not my friends...sucker)
Luqman (http://theultimatebystander.blogspot.com/) had been moaning and complaining about wanting a mask without telling me the reason why soo...since am so free,I decided to take him to Plaza Singapura.Along the way,Zheng Hong decided to be a busybody and join us in our quest for the Scared Mask but before all that could happen!...We went back to Luqman house for him to take some cash and use laptop in the process.
After a long and harsh journey consist of walking, taking bus, more walking and MRT,we finally reached our destination but by then,we all had totally forgotten our objective so instead,we went straight for the food court.Am not gonna go into detail of what we had for lunch/dinner (it was 3 p.m.)because it was too sad to describe so after the meal,we went upstairs to the cosplay shop,'The Otaku House'.
We went inside, have some fun with anime stuff(my friends are hardcore nerd but I think am just a casual nerd) and finally decided to buy a cheesy Ichigo's Hollow Mask from the anime Bleach and a rain vongola ring with an attached chain from Katekyo Hitman Reborn...And finally we went our separate way and went home...in the same MRT.
Lastly,I just wanna say that I don't think Blogging is the thing for me so I think I will do what I do best...find some good movie trailer or do reviews...This is Champagne L,signing off.
P.S. I still have no idea why Luqman want the mask and the ring...:p
Movie Trailer : District 9
Saturday, August 1, 2009
This...is..freaking...epic.Brought to you by Peter Jackson, the guy behind The Lord of The Ring, and directed by a relatively unknown director name Neil Blomkamp.
What I love about this is that they don't use any big actor at all and the fact that this is actually a low-budget film,it became more realistic unlike some movie which screw around too much with their large budget. We have to see if Neil will be able to make this into a successful blockbuster and earn him some well-deserved fame.
All in all, this trailer look awesome, intense and action-packed and I would likely to enjoy it with a popcorn in my hand in the cinema.
